Concerns and Fears

I was there.

You were there.

We all have been there.

What am I talking about?

Well, concerns, fears, and what to expect when joining something new. In this case, it’s about concerns and fears of joining Wealthy Affiliate and what to expect when joining. Because I was there myself, having been stung by MLM (multi-level marketing) stinger and out three large bills financially and countless hours of work to boot. This left me raw for years.

But it’s not only about the money that I lost, but that is also the least important aspect of it all. There was the whole thing of trying to bring my family member on board, trying to sell them on it then they acting weird around you after you brought it up to them.(I’ll NEVER, promote things to family again, NEVER) Learned this the hard way.

Then there is the dashing of your hopes, which is true soul killer. Getting your hopes up for success and to crash down to reality (like that 98% of people fail in making money online).

They are the cold hard numbers, but the truth. Going through negative experiences, it callouses you to legitimate ways to make money. I know, I’ve been there. The overwhelming amount of scams is mind-numbing. People are trying to separate you from your hard-earned money.

Why We Search

google search

We search and hope to find a better way of earning a living. We strive for betterment, cause we all want freedom. Some form of freedom. To wake up when we want, to go where we want, to buy what we want, to be what we want. Or it may be the work you do.

Your job may suck, your second job may really suck! Low pay is another driving reason why we search for other good opportunities.

Let me be open and upfront with you, btw, this is hard for me but is beneficial to this post and the people that will read it. So I must share with you. I have an average decent job at my full-time job. I had a spending habit, till recently I got a hold of it (because it had a hold on me) and also about being in denial about admitting it. Trying to fill a hole in my life with stuff. Doesn’t work, by the way, trying to buy material things for what is lacking inside yourself.

My wife and I finally bought a house at the ripe age of 41. Now with my spending curtailed and I had a lot of credit card debt to get out from behind. I needed to do something else or risk losing the house we just bought.

So, I got a second job. That second job is okay, but I just absolutely hate it. I have to get up at 3:20 in the morning after getting home from my full-time job at 10:45 at night. Some nights I get 3 hours of sleep. Long Days, to say the least. One person, I work with is so controlling at my second job coupled with the lack of sleep and feeling tired all the time. It forced me to look for a way out. I am doing two jobs plus working on my websites and progressing through Wealthy Affiliate.

So the hope of one day quitting my second job. God, I dreamed of leaving that job.

This is my personal story. When I don’t feel like writing or doing anything, I remember my second job, and that motivates me. It got so bad for me, I started looking for alternative ways of making money online even though I was burned in the past, with the MLM bullshit. But I took the chance, the leap of faith to keep trying no matter what and if I failed again, I would pick myself up. It reminds of a quote someone had written on a plain piece of paper in an old school house that was then a boxing gym that I used to go to.

One More Round by James J. Corbett:JimCorbett

“Fight one more round. When your feet are so tired that you have to shuffle back to the centre of the ring, fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round – remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”

This is getting me out of my hole, the hole I created and I believe this will help you with whatever your reason for looking at Wealthy Affiliate. I too was super skeptical about joining. I did research, watched videos, and then decided what the heck, I’d sign up for their free starter account. The most significant thing that helped clear up if this was a scam or not, was the number of people at Wealthy Affiliate. People like me wanting more.

The community is awesome at Wealthy Affiliate, I got a real sense of this, during the seven free days of premium membership when you first sign up. I took WA for a test drive every day for them seven days looking at everything, from live chat, to the lessons, their keyword tool, and if the owners were available to help and ask a question, and the forums and chat. If this was a scam, people have a way of showing it, especially in chat.

I saw none of this. Just friendly people going out of there way to help. It was worth the try in my book, and I’m still a premium member to this day. I see no reason to ever quit Wealthy Affiliate.

Why?

Because it simply WORKS!!!!

Some General Concerns Addressed

Selling or promoting a product in person – I do promote things and sell things, but not aggressively, more passively, by just putting content on my websites. I prefer this method. Not, having to do it person to person. I absolutely hate salesmanship tactics person to person! If someone doesn’t want information on a product, I promote they go elsewhere, and that’s the way I want it. They just click out of my page.

You are not forced to make people buy something.

Afraid of technology – This is not a problem for me, but I have older family members that have this fear that they are going to break something or just the general fear of not knowing what they are doing. The lesson at Wealthy Affiliate are well planned, easy to understand, explained in detail. Plus, if you are stuck there is the chat, or ask a question, ask the owners, asking for help is standard on Wealthy Affiliate.

Nobody knows it all at WA, everybody learns here. You will be stuck at one time or another, and you’ll ask yourself if you want to continue doing this.

Don’t quit!!, ask someone, anyone on the site Kyle, me, in chat, anyone for help. We all get stuck, and we need to be helped to get unstuck. No shame in this especially with great friendly people.

Afraid of what other people will think if you joined – First, you don’t have to tell anyone what you are doing. I haven’t told anyone about joining Wealthy Affiliate, but my wife and Mom. It’s none of people business if that’s what you choose to do. I’m not ashamed, but I’m introverted, a little, and keep things to myself. If you want to tell, then tell and share. Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t’ ask you to make the dreaded list of family and friends and force feed them sales pitches. That was another sign; I liked WA.

Doing something you don’t enjoy – Y O U pick what area you want to go into. Pick an interest, a passion, a longing and do that. Do what you love, and success follows. It’s simple, you decide and for god sake, pick something you love doing. It will keep you interested and creative.

Fear of losing money – You pay for information at Wealthy Affiliate, a monthly fee. It would be great if it was free but it’s not. Hell, I wish I didn’t have to pay either, but I know it’s keeping me motivated and progressing and this is investing in myself and my businesses. If you want to save money and go premium, I would highly suggest you pay the yearly fee, instead of the monthly fee. Save your money as much and as often as you can, wherever you find savings. The cheapest way to get a Wealthy Affiliate premium account is to go yearly.

With the monthly fee, it’s  $47.00 a month, if you go with the pay for a year all at once it is $29.92 a month, a savings of 17.08 a month. The $47.00 is a great value for what you’ll be learning, but why not get it cheaper?

If you just pay the monthly fee every month, it will cost you $47.00

If you pay the yearly fee for 12 months, it breaks down to $29.92 a month for 12 months. Substantial savings over the $47.00. So, if you’re going premium, I highly recommend you pay them all at once for the complete year.

It’s $564.00 for paying 12 monthly payments.
It’s $359.00 for a yearly once a year payment.
That’s $205.00 in savings if you pony up for the yearly payment.

Is it a Scam? – No, it is not. How I know is it works. It doesn’t work overnight. It requires dedication and effort. If that scares you, better not even sign up. Scams sell high rewards, with little effort. Take a look at my website, all the content here I have created by following Wealthy Affiliate programs, to be specific the Affiliate Bootcamp program for this website. It’s not perfect, not yet, but I’ve worked hard and pushed through a lot of personal barriers to create it. I’m proud of it.

Wealthy Affiliate sells success but with hard work.

Will I learn anything? – Yes, there is so much to learn and implement. It’s almost endless from WordPress to themes, to google webmaster tools, google analytics, content creation, gaining authority, affiliates and so much more. You will definitely learn something, and most people have a sense of being overwhelmed at first, but you start crawling and slowing learning through the lesson plans easily.

I hope this clears some concerns and fears of joining Wealthy Affiliate program. I truly believe this system is worth doing and investing your time and money into it. Also check out my review of Wealthy Affiliate Review 2016, Legit Money Maker?

    • That is a really good question? But…it’s hard to answer most people see positive results in 6 months to a year, sometimes longer. Keep in mind you are building a business from the ground up. The website you can get up and running really quick, but it’s the traffic and generating money that is the harder part. There are also other factors involved like the niche you pick and the amount of effort and time you invest that determine your success. Hope this helps Dawn, I see you have joined WA. Congrats. Wealthy Affiliate is an amazing place. If you have other questions let me know here or over there.

  1. This amount of money is too high for banned countries like India and there are many un wealthy families who never dared to enter into this business due to the poverty situation prevailing in India and other banned countries.
    It’s $359.00 for a yearly once a year payment.

    • I can understand your problem and would imagine it is a lot of money to a lot of people regardless of location. Poor is poor. There are plenty of free resources where you can learn skills and then apply them to generate money. My website for one. Keep looking and hopefully saving all the while working.
