OneSpace Review, Product Overview

In this review, I will be reviewing the company OneSpace, also formerly known as Crowdsource. If you’re looking to make money online, with no set schedules, and work when you want, this company, OneSpace is a great place to earn money from working at home.

This company deploys a refreshing and innovative way to make money online by using crowdsourcing with a cloud-based workforce platform. From my own personal experience, I have done crowdsourcing for companies like Amazon and others, this one by far is hands down more enjoyable. The tasks at OneSpace are just less tedious than most, which is never a bad thing.

If you don’t know or understand what crowdsourcing is let me explain, crowdsourcing is the process of performing work online.  The idea is to take work and outsource it to a crowd of workers. Its usually involves making a large task into micro-task or smaller task by dividing it up among many people to get a faster, cheaper, and more reliable result.  The micro-tasks or small tasks that are performed online ranging from adding captions to images to freelance writing.

Course Tests

So to get started at OneSpace, you first must sign up and take a series of course tests to qualify to do certain jobs.

  • Audio Transcription
  • Copy Writer – Currently no longer offered.
  • Junior Copy Writer – Currently no longer offered.
  • Quality Assurance Specialist
  • Senior Assurance Specialist
  • Copy Editor – Currently no longer offered.
  • Writer II

Task By Types

Then once you pass the course test, different available Task by Types are seen to start working on like:

  • Survey
  • Transcription
  • Writing
  • Search Keyword Tasks
  • Find Image
  • Keywords on Google
  • Keywords on Google.co.uk
  • Keywords on Bing
  • many more, they are adding more sometimes

A couple of thoughts on the test. You may take a test up to 3 times, if you don’t pass the test, then you may no longer take that test anymore, and you are then unable to do that job. Passing test, grants you access to more jobs and higher pay because you’re usually doing a significantly harder job, like a Copy Writer job. The tests are timed, with usually a half hour to complete them. Don’t feel bad if you don’t pass the test the first time; they are HARD! Especially the CopyWriter job. With a little bit of luck, you can pass after doing it a couple of times, or if your an expert or have a degree in that field.

The Good & The Bad

The Good:love-valentines-day-pose-heart-funny-frog-animal-1

The thing I love about OneSpace, is there are many things to love about this company.

  • First and Foremost is OneSpace pays you in a day or two automatically, thru PayPal. No having to request payment or anything for that matter, just done automatically. So Refreshing, every company should do this.
  • Secondly, the work they have you do. It’s not as drudgery as other online jobs I’ve done for some reason, but it still works.
  • Thirdly, you do good work; then you are compensated for it by their Proficiency Leveling Program. Which has four levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert. By successfully completing job task you advance.
  • Fourth, some of the jobs are just easy! Like keywords on Google, it’s my favorite, maybe because it’s so easy. Yeah, it’s because it’s so easy.
  • Fifth, just the way everything is laid out and presented. With clear, precise instructions. You can tell there are people, a team, and a company that cares!!!
  • Sixth, competitive pay for all approved work.
  • Seventh, no interview or fees for joining.
  • Eighth, the opportunity to earn during the entire day, work on jobs at your convenience.

The Bad:despair-alone-being-alone-archetype-archetypes

  • Limited jobs, jobs are not always available to do, under the Find Work tab at OneSpace, all the time. So one must come back routinely and check for currently available jobs. (See Special Hint for finding available  jobs at the bottom of this article)
  • Hard Test. Some of the course test you need to be an expert or at least a very proficient in that field because if you don’t have the skills, you will never pass. There that hard!
  • All worked goes thru an approval system before being paid. (can’t really blame them)

OneSpace Pay

Pay varies from taking simple company questions ($.01) to $5.00 for a 200 word writing assignment for all approved work. You have the ability to take qualification test to gain more work with more pay, so there is room to grow.

My Final Opinion of OneSpace

OneSpace is a great company to work for doing easy crowdsourcing jobs to technical writing assignments. It’s that simple. I can Highly Recommend this for earning extra income, so this is a winner in my book. I believe OneSpace might be just what you are looking for.

Special Hints For Finding Available Jobs At OneSpace

As promised above I would reveal a little secret hack for finding and getting available jobs on OneSpace. The best time to find available jobs is clicking the Find Work tab, once you logged into OneSpace or hitting the refresh button (F5) at the top of the hour, (say like 12:00, or 1:00 or 2:00), and doing that repeatedly for at least a minute or until a job comes up. This is usually when they release their jobs. I have found too, that if you hit Find Work at the bottom of the hour (say like 12:30, or 1:30, or 2:30), they also less frequently release during these times, but they do do it during these times also.

Another hint is to look at odd hours of the night when fewer people are looking. You can get more jobs at this time. During the day it is more competitive and harder to find available work.

  1. Hey interesting article, and it might be something i use in the future. Is it 100% free to use, or are there premium features we have to pay for to unlock?

    • Hey Cheang, It’s completely free, no need to pay for anything at OneSpace, they pay you for work completed. The only thing that can be unlocked is taking test to earn more opportunities (jobs) and possible higher pay with those jobs. Hope that clears things up for you. Take care.

  2. This sounds very intriguing. This has definitely caught my attention. How much can one earn on a typical day? Is there a set limit, or anything that you have found out by your experience?

    • It totally varies on the amount of time you have to be online and the availability of jobs. Along with what that specific job pays. You can make as much money in a day as you are able to, no set limit, the availability of jobs comes in to play again. As sometimes there is no jobs available. Some jobs are popular and people jump on them and then there gone fast.

  3. Hi Dan I enjoyed reading your post and I learnt something , I am new to all these online opportunities and thank you for taking the time to spell it out for us learners. When you say the tests are hard, what do you mean? Are they on one topic Or different ones? Regards rinda

  4. Hey Rinda, I’m glad I could help. First, the test are timed, you have a set amount of time to answer. Which some test I barely finished in time, I have also failed some test based solely on time. Second, even though the test are multiple choice, it is by no means easy. The answers are not the obvious choice or can be both a single answer or multiple of answers. Thirdly, for the writing jobs test, they are very specific for proper use of grammar and English. If English is something you didn’t flourish in, it’s going to be very difficult. Very meticulous. Hope this helps.

  5. Hi Dan I enjoyed reading your post. It really helps for work in crowdsourcing sites & micro-jobs site. I want assessment help regarding junior copywriter exam of onespace. Can you please guide or give some hints on question-answers of junior copywriter exam?

    • From my personal experience I found the junior copywriter exam very hard. I took it three times and barely passed as I remember and I am not the best at English. Depending on how many times you have taken the test, you can make notes while taking the test as to what the test consist of. Then study on these after the test. Don’t do this if your on your third try. Third try you need to pass the test and the limited amount of time to complete the exam. Another tip, I could give though not without controversy, is have a friend who is competent in English grammar and writing to sit next to you and help take the test. I remember the test was multiple choice but there was no clear right answer as it could have been one or two answers or even all of the above answers. But I would first explore the option of refreshing your English grammar and writing skills through some sort of course online. You will be a better writer technically and have more of a skill set. Hope this helps.

  6. Hi Dan It sounds really helpful. Junior copywriter test was multiple choice answers and all the answers are radio button type. So, How can it be possible to select more than one correct answer? Because when I select second radio button, first one obviously disappeared. So, I think there is only one correct answer to choose from multiple choice of radio button type answers. Other thing is can you please refer me to your friend who is competent in English grammar and writing to sit next to me and help me to pass the test. It would be really great. Can you please share your Email ID & your friend’s ID to me?

    • I’m sorry I meant to say that it could be answer A or A and B or d all of the above. Not that you would answer multiple answers, just that the answers were sometimes a combination of A & B or C & D. I never had a friend help me, I did it myself. I was just thinking outside the box and trying to help you. As there is no way of OneSpace knowing you are taking the test alone or with someone. Hope this helps.

  7. So true, I’ve been working in Crowdsource since 2014 up until now in Onespace. It has been my source of income, I work as Senior Quality Assurance specialist. Onespace never fails me, coz they pay me daily.

    • Kristine, thank you for leaving a comment and also validating that Onespace is a solid place to work. Where they pay you daily. It’s nice to hear from other people that have worked there for a long time as well.

  8. I signed up on OneSpace a week ago. Even after passing three tests – Junior Copy Writer, Quality Assurance Specialist and Senior Assurance Specialist – I haven’t had a single job offer. Are there any jobs available for other people these days? Maybe I’m not getting any because I live outside the U.S. and English is not my mother tongue. I wonder if I’m just wasting my time doing more tests.

    • I haven’t been on OneSpace in a while but decided to check if any jobs were available. I quickly looked and there were none available to me either, but this used to change hourly or even change every half an hour. Your best bet would open a support ticket and ask the question or even login in to their forums and ask and research there.
When I was very active there sometimes nothing would be released for hours, it all depends on what jobs are currently available. I know the test are quite lengthy and very hard but the more qualifications you have the more jobs would be available to you and your qualification will be good forever, . I also have no idea if it’s because of your native languages. So, I think your best bet is the support ticket, it can be found at find work at the bottom of the page. Then it takes you to the support center, there you can find it at the top right hand corner of the screen Called “Submit a Request”. Hope this helps. I would be curious as to what you find out, If you have time to come back and leave another comment as to your findings. Thanks, Nakko!

  9. Hello Dan,
I am very satisfied with One Space, but it is irritating that I have to wait for jobs to appear… The best hours you are mentioning in your review (2:00, 01:00, 02:00) are they CEST or EST or some other time zone? I live in CEST time zone…

    • The work at Onespace just seems less tedious to me than most places. I think it’s purposely done to make it more enjoyable, unlike other sites that lay down the most work possible, with the most hoops to jump through. You point to one of the biggest draw backs with Onespace, waiting for jobs. Onespace should make more of an effort to find more work, so jobs would be laying around more. An abundant of jobs, from which to choose.
The best hours I mentioned were Central Standard Time from my experience but as all things change in time. As I don’t know currently, what are the best times. Just less people awake looking for work at them early morning hours.
Thanks for the question hope this helps you.

  10. Hello,
i failed senior QA two times, can you give me some tips or advice on how to pass that test? And what happen if i fail all 3 attempts?

    • To be honest with you it’s been so long since I took the test I don’t remember. After you fail three times you are able to try once a month after your initial three fails, to try to pass again. So, you have to wait a month to retake the test. These test are amazingly hard to pass.Hope this helps Xandra.

      • I am doubt that we will get a job at onespace. I just opened an account for test. hope I will get some jobs daily. Thanks

        • The test are hard but it’s worth a try. Some test are easier than others. Good Luck Anil! Let me know how you do. Please come back and give your opinion about Onespace after you worked there. Would love to hear it in the comment section.

  11. Hey Dan,
I read your article and skim thru the comments. Looks like you are still replying to people, that is so helpful of you. I wonder if you ever heard of a website called “upwork”? It is also for freelancers. I have a profile there, however, got really nervous to link my paypal to the profile and not sure where to look for the website’s legitimate. Thanks!

    • Hey jobhunter90,
I don’t know anything about Upwork, but I’ll look into it and maybe even write a review on it.Thanks for the potential lead though. You have to do a lot of sleuthing to find out if they are a legit company. I usually start with the website, I love transparency and look for this. You can either contact them and ask your question through their various contact support. Then search online to see if they have a lot of complaints. Maybe type Upwork scam or something like that. Checkout the BBB under Upwork name. How long they have been in business also helps determine legitimacy. These are just a few of the things, I hope they help you. Let me know what happens too, if you would.

  12. Hey Dan,
Thank you for getting back to me. I did some research (google) and looks like upwork has some angry freelancers who wrote comments on a blog to warn people about working there. And another red flag here, when I tried to register and put my “expect salary” in, the website popped up a notice saying Upwork will take 20% of what I (will) earn. I typed in 7.25$ and it automatically minus a couple of bucks. I’m a newbie in the freelancer world and don’t know if that “20% thing” is normal, or not, but still I can not bring myself to complete the registration. At least not now! Speaking of that, I’ve been exploring your website, very nice organized and well displayed! Cheers 🙂

    • Thanks for the compliment Jobhunter90, I work hard on my website. I know your looking for a job (your name gave it away), something you might consider is the system I use that teaches me how to build and maintain a website. It is my #1 recommended way of making money online and is the system I use. It takes time and work, but in time it is well worth it. You can work on it in your spare time too. I was working two jobs and created to websites, when I wasn’t working on one of my two jobs, I was working on my websites. Read my review of Wealthy Affiliate it will explain it more.
I not sure on if 20% is high or not, seems high to me. Sometimes you have to cut your teeth on bad jobs when starting out just to gain the experience, then when you have experience under your belt you demand a higher rate.
Thanks for information, I’ll look into it.
      Dan

  13. I just joined onespace, and I don’t see any qualification options except the quality assurance ones. What am I missing?

    • Once logged in it should be in the left hand column, under Qualifications as Earn Qualifications. At least it there for me that is what I am seeing. Are you looking to get qualified or find work? I know at certain times they only have jobs for certain qualifications. I just went under find work and there is no work to be had under my qualifications. Let me know if this helps.

    • Did you pass the test? I am just wondering cause I can not seem to pass it and don’t understand why?

      • If you are asking me the highest test I passed was Junior Copy Writer test. Took me three times to pass. They don’t really tell you what answers you got wrong so yeah, it’s hard to tell where you went wrong. Don’t feel bad, just try your best. It has to do with luck as well, I think.

  14. Hey Dan
Just a heads up to anyone still finding this article and the OneSpace site. Currently there are no assessments/tasks for writing and editing–OneSpace has deemed there is a sufficient workforce to complete tasks on offer.

I just wanted to address your comments on having help with grammar etc while taking the tests. Taking some online grammar courses is a great idea. However, although nobody will know if someone has had help in passing writing tests, it would quickly become apparent if a “writer” doesn’t have necessary skills when submitting substandard work. The work would be rejected, you would not get paid and you could be banned from the site. Any kind of cheating is cause for an immediate ban, this also goes for getting help with the Quality Assurance Specialist tests. Editors and reviewers are pretty good at spotting and reporting suspect workers, and admin do always try to stamp out potential scammers and spammers.

    • Lucy,
Thanks for the update on OneSpace and the assessments. It’s been a long time since I have been to there website, as I have been busy with maintaining this website and other websites. I will update that page to avoid confusing people. It’s hard to stay on top of everything.
I agree with your comments and decide to take down the suggestion. It’s more harmful and does little good to get past the test, then you will underperform on the various tasks (as you mentioned and be kicked out).
The only really way to pass the tests is to have the skills, as this is obviously why these test are so hard in the first place. The skills are only attained by putting in the work, more often than not many many years of work.

  15. I have always been an A girl in English and Language Arts. I have taken the test 2 times and have not passed it. I just don’t understand what I am doing wrong.

    • As mentioned the test are kinda ridiculously hard, with no way of telling what answers you got right and which ones you got wrong. Some luck is involved in squeaking by the test.

  16. I am fed up with their pathetic customer service! I deleted my account once for personal reasons and when i wanted to sign up again they are saying my account has been locked due to repeated failed logins. Now when I asked about this they won’t reply and due to this I can’t use my paypal account anywhere else.

    • Perhaps, you are not using the forum or submit a request. I would first try the forum and if that doesn’t work Submit a form here, http://support.onespace.com/, then click Submit A Request. If you have tried these methods already perhaps get on their Facebook page or other social media and direct message them. I have used this method for other companies in the past and this has worked sometimes. Hope this helps, let me know what happens.

    • I didn’t write the answers down when taking the test, as there was no time to do that. You’re going to have to pass the test on your own merit. Good luck!
